do you change WIFI name (SSID) a LOT?

Our household has too many devices to concern myself over re-setting up those devices with a "new" network. I use a MAC filter on my router and a ridiculous pass phrase to mitigate intruders looking for low-hanging fruit.

No consumer network is truely secure. A 5minute search on youtube will show you where to get the tools to bruit force hack a network on a couple of hours,

Apartment neighbor or whoever can stream whatever through your router. There was a case of and apartment dweller next door to a house trading child porn through the homeowners intrnet connection. The cops busted into his house and dragged him out in front of his wife and kids. It took a day or so to prove his innocence and get let loose. They busted the real culprit but the damage to his reporation was done.

Best answer ^^^^ ... when Google maps truck comes down your street, it not only photograghs the homes and businesses but also scans and documents the WiFi SSID.
So stored information is the streets, buildings and ssid of almost everything on your street.

It's how google knows where anyone with Google services aka android phones are every second of the day. Not sure of everyone knows, right in your gmail account you or anyone who knows your password can look up very single place your phone has been since you signed up for gmail.

Google knows your location thanks to GPS/location services in your phone, not thanks to some Google maps truck that comes down your street once every couple of years.

Only if you have location services turned on. I always have location services turned off except when I use my phone for navigation.

I still like to deliver a message. My current is very generic, just 'ntwz', don't want to be targeted. Fly as far below radar as possible. You know, the liability is too great.
