My neighbor and I went halves three years ago on a 1963 Toro Snowhound. It looked cool as a cucumber but the Briggs engine was pretty tired and the machine overall wasn’t very effective anymore. The fumes from it were unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.
But it had every right to be tired. When we first got it, we checked the engine date code on the Briggs website. It was manufactured two months before John F. Kennedy was killed. That put that machine’s life in perspective.
HawkeyeScott,Not knowing a blessed thing about your Snow hound but It sounds like a candidate for a re-power. When the Tecumseh died on my Ariens 724, I re-powered with a Predator from Harbor Freight back in'14. Do some googling .
