My ceiling fan ran 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for thirty years. I bought a replacement, because I thought it finally wore out. When my wife and I went to replace it, imagine our surprise: it worked perfectly. It was the control on the wall that had failed! (I had to replace it, because the control was NS1, the new one would not control the old fan, and the height meant any other control was not practical.)
