Mixing different brands

I use dexcool. I have two different brands and just wondered is it like mixing motor oils where you may not get the full benefit of each oil....or worse. OR maybe like DOT3 brake fluid, I guess, where they all seem the same and will probably never make a difference to the materials in the components or a change in performance?

Kind of wondered about this today
 
I would be comfortable mixing coolant if they are manufacturer approved for the same application.
 
Two different brands of dexcool type. I'd do it, but I'd likely monitor and change it a little earlier.. Just my 2 cents.
 
Dexcool is a tight spec, I wouldn't worry about two licensed versions clashing.

Yes.

As eljefino said, they are manufactured to specs and are not widely different chemistries like if you were adding a HOAT or IAT.
