At one Wal-Mart, I saw that they performed oil changes using oil from a plastic bag, encased in a box, kind of like the wine in a box. It seemed to be mostly synthetics like PP and M1. They were six gallon boxes. Anyone know if these are available for sale to the general market, or just shops?

Amazon has six gallon boxes of Castrol...

I have seen these boxes for sale in Wal-Mart, don't remember the brand though...

I've thought of getting one of the six gallon Castrol boxes that Amazon sells, although for the 0w-20 I need, it's somehow still cheaper to buy jugs at Wal-Mart.

Does your wife know you've been checking out jugs at Walmart?

My local Quaker State distributor sells them to the public in QS, Pennzoil & Valvoline
For (this was about a year ago) $22/6qts - $78/24qts. I thought about trying a box but measuring it could be a hassle and you could easily spill it or knock a container over, with my vehicles pouring in the 5 qt jug is so easy but you metioning it makes me think about giving it a try . I have also seen them on the NAPA web site in the NAPA brand.
TOTO.

I've seen them in our NAPA catalogs, too. I'm afraid to ask the price, though.

On one hand, you'd think they'd offer them at a reasonable price, since shops will buy them and shops aren't going to pay ridiculous prices. On the other hand, it is NAPA.

O o, what did I do what did I do? Am I in trouble ?

I have had to use these at work. They are really annoying because they can easily leak, and getting the last bit of oil out is harder than with regular bottles.

I would have to see an extremely cheap price on such oil before I would consider using it.

That's unfortunate. I thought they'd look nifty in the garage, but I am afraid of the price.
