Has anybody noticed this HDEO ? Ester-based, TBN 16, impressive

http://www.motul.com/fi/en/products/227?f%5Brange%5D=45

A few years ago I was seeking 5W-30 HDEOs and ended up to Mobil Delvac 1 5W-30 LE. My motive was lower fuel consumption and extended OCI.

Now my choice would be this Motul Tekma Optima 5W/30 to 2001 commonrail diesel without dpf and kat removed.

you don't want to use it unless you don't have dpf and scr
Great for my Unimog (2005 Euro 3) especially outside N. America, EU and Australia, but I prefer 5W40.

If it's got an MTU III approval, it's very stout oil. MTU does not approve stuff willy nilly. They are pretty selective - at least on their marine stuff ...

Formerly in marine engineering. In an earlier life I owned my own petroleum tank truck, and hauled for the majors and independent's.
