You say that but if this is the starting point, where does it end. Not many of us have anything to hide but there are principles hereFord feels the need to put a warning pop up message on the display to remind me. I don’t care I like the convenience of the FordPass app and I am not very interesting anyway, anyone spying on me will be really bored.
I cut cell service when I'm driving on the highway at legal+ speeds. Not to mention your cell phone...
And if so, so what if you're not doing something illegal? There is some tin foil hat mentality here. You would have to have thousands of employees monitoring millions of drivers to get meaningful data, and for what? So they can target some advertising to you more precisely? I'm all for that.Actually you can set driver profiles in some and if you record enough data on driving habits it wouldn't be too hard to figure out who is driving and when.
It wouldn't take more employees, data gets categorized in a massive DB with id markers and all you have to do is a reciruvuse search for such person qualities, at such time, with such criteria to get a meaningful plot point. Total anonymity and they wouldn't want to know because it would be a liability hell hole. Meta data & metrics 101. Personally I know I am 100% identifiable in my household for driving, I speed, late brake, pass more often than not. My wife...sunday church lady. And if so, so what if you're not doing something illegal? There is some tin foil hat mentality here. I have owned or do own every series truck and full size SUV from the 60's on up, and by FAR, these new trucks are the worst ever. Look cool, ride smooth, bunch of power, but they are not going to last like the GMT400 or 800, no way.I had a 2018 Silverado and the paint was beyond terrible. I understand GM has a new paint facility that came online. Maybe that will help. Yes-you did well on resale. That's a good thing about trucks.
I zoomed in on the front of that truck. With 54,000 miles on it-there should be at least a couple of dings on the hood. I am doubting that's original paint-but I could be wrong.I have owned or do own every series truck and full size SUV from the 60's on up, and by FAR, these new trucks are the worst ever. I have never seen such a used market for these trucks with many having 20k miles on the clock. Goes to show I am not the only one who feels this way.
Thinking about buying this gem.

New models from Toyota, Chevrolet and Ford are collecting driver data and sharing it with carmakers.
Your new car doesn’t exactly know where you’re going, but it certainly knows where you’ve been. And it’s sharing all your sensitive data with carmakers like Ford, Toyota, and Chevrolet — as well as shady third parties in certain cases, according to Wired. Modern cars have come to rival smartphones in terms of data collection, reportedly producing up to 25 gigabytes of data per hour.
