your most satisfying tire purchase?

My Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 225/45/17 and 245/40/17. I could not believe the difference in ride quality and grip (both dry and wet). This was going from Michelin Pilot Sport Plus all season tires.

A close second would be the first set of snow tires I bought. I had previously written off my 3-series in the snow and resorted to driving a cheap van during the winter months. The van became a money pit so I got rid of it and bought some Continental Extreme Winter Contact tires. It completely changed the vehicle. It became fun safe to drive in the snow.

Not so much about the type or brand of tire, but the Tire Dealer.

I love buying from Dunn Tire, found in Western NY and I believe is parts of Pennsylvania. This company is GREAT. Never tries to oversell me with things I don't want. I even get my "Road Force Balance" done by them at a price that I can't match anywhere else. (not all their locations have the Hunter GSP 9700 Road Force balance machine).

Although I mainly live in Florida, whenever I know I will need tires in the near future, or know I need a good balance, I wait until I go to my Penfield location and have it done at their Henrietta NY location. Love them.

When I have to get tire work elsewhere, I go to Discount Tire. I've used them, both in Florida and also in Roswell NM and in Los Lunas NM.

Michelin LTX M/S for everyday driving on a Dakota I had.
Hercules Avalance snow tires for the Dakota I had and now for 2012 Ram 2WD pickup. Awesome snow tires!!!

[censored] yeah they do! My friend has 255 wide RS-3 on his Autocross car, that thing STICKS!

Truck - Michelin LTX
Car/Minivan - Goodyear Assurance ComforTred Touring (2 sets)

Honorable mention - Cooper Discoverer A/T3's... still haven't had the chance the get out in the snow with them yet. However, I'm quite impressed with the tire so far...

It could be many for me but a couple stand out

Continential Extremewintercontact for my 2009 elantra touring.

best snow tire ever. I like them better than xice xi2's, blizzack ws-70's, and yoko IG-20's

Yokohama S.drives on 2007 focus zx3.. Made the car handle like it was on rails.. was pretty amazing how fun to drive they made that car.

First, the price was right. With two rebates---one DTD-eBay and one Hankook---plus a coupon and sweet talk at the local Firestone, I got them installed for about $210, including lifetime balance and rotation.

Me too. I got Hankook Optimo H727 with 2 rebates so the final cost was around $220-230.

X3

I'm very happy with my Hankook H727 tires. I've had them for more than a year and run them 20k miles.

Quiet and smooth on the highway. They seem to handle quite well for my driving style and conditions.

Other tires I've bought in recent years:
2 sets of Firestone FR710
1 set of Hankook H426

I like Michelin tires.

- They are molded in multiple draws instead of two halves like the cheaper tires.
- They need few weights to balance.
- When spinning them, they run true with little wobble in any direction.
- When they get old, they don't crack as badly as some other tires.

Michelin MXV4's:

great treadlife-oem energy savers went 70k; mxv4's have 40k+ w/ plenty of tread left
low rolling resistance=very good mpg's
good handeling wet, snow

The best set of tires I've purchased are the Michelin Latitude Tours on our CR-V right now. They are neck-and-neck with the best set of tires I've owned (but didn't purchase), the Michelin LTX M/S on my old Nissan truck.

The Michelin Cross Terrains on our Acura (we purchased) are also good, but are a tad more aggressive than we really need. It will need tires in another year, and it will get Latitude Tours also.

For this car; The BFG original, BIG tread block KDs in 275/40 17, mounted on my SLP bought, OEM made, 17x9s.

Stuck like glue (or at least like a 100 treadwear semi-R compound tire, despite being 200 treadwears), and wore VERY well for that said compound, and the abuse I put them through!

Sadly, they, or anything like them in that size, or my current size, are no longer made.

Firestone Destination LE's. Best tires I have ever had. 3 sets on 3 different vehicles and they were amazing on all 3. I am now running my 1st set of Destination LE2's and so far they are excellent too.

The runners up would be...

Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO
Bridgestone Dueler APT

Excluding aggressive on my trucks, for our SUVs and car we normally ran upper Michelin (LTX) & Good Year mostly, but on my little SUV on the current tires I went from the LTX to now the General Grabber HTS and was a little concerned because of no experience with them and cheaper cost. Now into my 2nd winter with them I am satisfied. I drive 2+ hours a day highway for work so I racked up some miles and there is a lot of tread still & they still run quiet & smooth. My 1st General tire experience.

Although it's close, I have to give the edge to the Pirelli P4's('04 Altima) compared to the Hankook Optimo H727('06 Mazda3) as the P4's are a bit tighter in the corners/handling. Both are very good A/S tires for our needs, driving style and climate. And both tires are equaly smooth/quiet

I'd like to drive both cars with the tires(visa-versa) in their respective sizes but, that's not going to happen anytime soon!

Very happy with the prices of both tire and the install from W*M and the lack of any radial pull or need of frequent rebalancing.

These 2 tires are very nice every day normal(human) driving tires in all weather. Nothing HP about them, just nice tires
