Im wonderign what your favorite Oil Test and/or Statistic is, when "Judging" an Oil against a Competitor Oil..

Is it NOACK, HT/HS.... What, exactly?

And Which grade "Fares the best?" Im rather Interested in the results of these Tests, as im a "Thick Oil" Guy/application and im rather curious how the 10w30 Stacks up.... not that id use it, but Knowledge is Power.

Thanks!

(Oh and btw.. By "Thick Oil" I mean "Thicker" than 10w30, like 10W-40 and 20W-50... but also 5W-50 when the leaves start to fall and "Indian Summer" passes.) :D

Assuming it meets or exceeds whatever official requirements for warranty, ILSAC GF-4 or whatever, I'd then look mostly at HT/HS, initial viscosity @ 100C, and the add pack.

For me it's how well the TBN holds up after 7500 or more miles. I know it depends a lot on the engine and how it's driven, but it's one of the main things I look at.

Beside that, I like oils with low viscosity in the 0F to 50F region. Granted, that data is pretty much impossible to find.
