When it gets that bad, try writing "Don't ask me for $%&*%*" on your forehead. Life becomes much easier as othes get the point. I did this on wednesday after the following:
I left my belt at home for whatever reason and had fun holding up grey pinstripe suit with a blue athletic shoelace. I'd like to think nobody noticed, but the receptionist at the DAs office sure did.
Then the law clerk hands me a motion the exact minute I leave the office, which I don't have time to proofread. All I know is that it has to be filed today, right now. I get to filing it and realize it's being heard in dept. 12, which is the courtroom in Watsonville, 15 miles away. This is on the day that everybody knew I would walk to work.
Standing in line to file the said motion, some lowlife who is wandering around the hallway seems to think they have a place in front of me in line. I offer for him to go ahead, and instead of thanks, dude says, "actually I was here first, bro." The sign says next in line wait here, which is exactly where I'm standing.
A quick reply of, "I'm not your bro, bro!" was relief.
Take it easy in case tomorrow isn't any better! So many people take life for granted when we have it pretty good.
The light at the end of the tunnel isn't a train, it's BITOG.
Times like these are part of being human. I worry for those who have everything go their way. What will they do when it all falls apart?
