A friend of mine is sponsored by Lucas oil and was kind enough to give me three cases (18 Qts) of 5W30 synthetic oil. I have read so many negative things on here about Lucas I'm afraid to use it. What do you oil gurus think?

Lucas syn(or dino) oil is good to use as long as they are GF4/SM or GF5/SN and they are free. The Lucas products I avoid are additives, they are over-priced and do nothing good for your engines and in some cases may cause some harms.

If you're afraid to use Lucas oil, if you are in Orange County I can stop by to pick it up to release you some stress !!!

What if i dont own a lawn mower? Can I give it to the wife as cooking oil?

Without a seconds pause. That oil is fine and for free, be thankful and use it with confidence. If you are worried, just run 3 runs of 3k miles. Any rated oil can do that without issue imo.

WOW, if it wasn't far the last few logical responses, I would've lost all faith in BITOG.

Judging oil by the brand's name and giving "recommendetions"??? Is that what BITOG has become???

I know we have some good posters, but I see them posting less and less, I gues they realized that it's a loosing battle, shame, really.

I agree some of the oil guru's don't take the time to respond like they did in the past.

Also the OP has not stated what vehicle the oil was going to run the oil in.
