Jeez. I'm ridiculous about keeping my car clean. There is NO trash in my car, EVER. I vacuum it like every week. People get in my car and always comment on how clean it is. I keep it like that all the time.

I have to say it. There are a LOT of disgusting people out there.
Just working in this business has lowered my opinion of most human beings in general.

amen

It hurts me ALOT to see that car in that condition..Back in the day those Town Cars were one of the BEST cars on the road..I put 300K miles on my 88 Town car in 10 years..Then I sold it someone who kept it at least another 4 years..When I sold it everything worked perfectly.

You know, I don't see any mcdonalds wrappers in that lincoln either. And the missing carpet means no mold spores!!
lol.gif

Wow. The worst my Jeep ever gets is a few receipts under the e-brake (cleaned out at least weekly), and the strapped down toolbox and couple of other items in the back.

wow, people ask me all the time, how i keep my car so clean, i tell them "i just never let it get dirty"

maybe ill give it a chance to get dirty and stay dirty for a little bit lol

This explains everything you've ever seen/heard or otherwise experienced in the presence of a degenerate human:

Unfortunate truth

I now know why some people act the way they do. It's genetics. Some are just more "genetic" than others.

The family of rats living under the passenger seat probably ate them already.

Care to elaborate?

To put it mildly, I don't think that article means what you think it means. But I wanted to give you a chance to make your point in more detail before I respond.

Alright.

1. This mixing of genes between Neanderthals and the other (sub)species happened at least tens of thousands of years ago. That's not too long in evolutionary terms, but it's long enough to make a significant difference.

2. Genes do not always determine our behavior. Mostly they just make us biased toward certain patterns of thought and action.

3. Even if genes did determine our behavior, it wouldn't have been a bad thing for our genes to have mixed with those of Neanderthals. Contrary to how their name is used in popular slang, Neanderthals were quite intelligent.

In other words, if you think that article indicates that our gene pool was polluted by genes that favor primitive behavior, you should re-read the article and study up on the science on which it is based.

I think you'd find that primates and most mammals will avoid krapping in their "bed" so to speak. Even my pigs will pick a corner of their stall for the krapper. So I don't think you can tie primitive behavior to messey people or hoarding.
I think its more that our ability to plan ahead for the lean times isn't quite refined in some people so they can't discard something that might be useful. I think too that some people are just lazy and once there car or house has reached a point of socially "unacceptable" mess, they just stop caring and keep building the pile.

I got it too...lol. Alas, you are wrong on the windshield thing. In Illinois you don't have to have one as long as you wear eye goggles. TRUE! Sad but true...lol.

I havent quite seen a car in that bad of shape...

But we do have a truck that comes into my shop religiously every 3000k.

It is a ford f-150 with 500k on THE ORIGINAL 5.4!!!! its a 2003, if im not mistaken. Leaks like a siv, and always comes in clunking away. just some old mans truck he drives the heck out of.

It never has more than a quart of oil in it. Transmission is always 3 quarts low. Needs 2 gallons of coolant, and about a quart of power steering fluid.

And he still insists on running 5w-20.

Try finding any gasoline engine in some pickup truck that has 500,000 miles on it and runs well. You will not. You aren't going to find one in a passenger car either.
