WORLD CUP TIME

Kansas City is a host city for the games. So glad it wil all be over in 2 months. The hype has been so overwhelming for 18 months, for a sport which many don't give a rat's behind about. It is so intense that I might leave town for a while. NW Arkansas on the new Beemer is looking good. I don't have a good feeling about the city hosting this event. This is a violent city with many organized gangs looking to up their street cred.

Same with locally here in Los Angeles. Parking alone is over $300.00 at the Inglewood venue and sold out. Remote parking 2.5 miles away is pushing $150.00.

And it is in the nastiest crime ridden part of town with homeless encampments and will have zero security for the attendees.

Mods, I cut and pasted this to give a quick review of the groupings. Apparently the USA in in group with Paraguay, Australia and the winner of playoff C. If anyone thinks this is not correct feel free to chime in. Sorry for the bad focus!

Same here.. so tired of hearing about it. KC is a terrible city, both sides. If it gets bad enough I’ll take PTO and go down to the farm but I doubt it. Everything is way too high, greed from the games to hotel. I work couple blocks from fan fest. Tempted to go just for grins but don’t want to figure out the parking debacle.

Last weekend there were 2 shootings in the Westport Entertainment District. One of the main fun districts with groups of roaming patrons.

How many games in KC?

I’m not sure how many games in Seattle and Vancouver but I’m not going to any games. Camping now so will miss the USA game on the tube. Fan fests are just stupid

Guns? Knives? Nuclear weapons?
Nukes? Seriously? Come on, you are better than making comments like that. If you want to debate, that's fine, but do a little research before you call me out. Here is a simple google search for you:

FIFA mandates the removal or covering of all non-official sponsor logos, gambling branding, and naming-rights sponsorships inside host stadiums during the World Cup. This "debranding" requires venues to replace corporate names with geographic ones—like changing AT&T Stadium to Dallas Stadium—to protect the exclusivity of FIFA’s official global partners

FIFA demanded every...single...image, gigantic to small, be removed from the stadiums for the duration of the WC. Imagine the cost to remove the gigantic "AT&T" logo from the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Then, in every hallway, bathroom, dining area, all signage had to be removed. FIFA wants to use our stadiums and infrastructure, reroute traffic, etc, but leaving a corp name on the stadiums they want to use was just too much for them.

I was joking. Lighten up. Call you out? Like a fight? What?

Force. The stadium owners could have just said no we don’t want FIFA games. Plenty of others wanted the games.

I don’t think this is a new thing or a USA thing.

Do I think FIFA is corrupt? We actually have proof to answer that in the affirmative.
