Its been a long time since I have seen a windshield service decal attached to
a 5 quart bottle of oil or in the packaging of a premium oil filter. Anyone from Mobil, Castrol, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Fram, Purolator, Wix, K & N listening?

The only oil that had something similar in the UK was Mobil 1. They had a little sticker that you could stick in your service book to show you had used Mobil oil.

I have bought several cars from Japan, prior to exchange rates dropping making them less profitable, and they all had such stickers.

They sometimes had the oil viscosity and name aswell.

I did notice that Japanese drivers seem to change fluids very regularly.

Underneath the cars were all like new, all cars 10yrs old+.

And the engine oil was spotlessly clean and the underbonnet area were like a new car also, they also marked up the cambelt cover with stickers indicating when the cambelt was changed and when it was due.

I suspect that synthetic lubricants are widely used in Japan.

I went here and bought a roll of them. This was about 7 years ago but I got a lifetime supply of oil change stickers for the cheap.

Most oil companies will send you some if you write and ask for them. I have a bunch of RP ones they sent me.

Even tho I keep a service record, the little sticker is a good reminder, easy to see, especially for the other driver(s) in the family.

I know I'm a mean old curmudgeon, but I despise those stinking stickers.

Especially when someone plasters one on our windshield.

Same. It screams "I go to Jiffy Lube".

It's even worse when it's the dealer, and it proclaims to the world that they used the wrong oil.

every time I get one of those it has a mistake on it - i rip them right off.
last Tbird oil change: box CHECKED for 'oil change reminder light equipped' --> NOPE - idk if any Fords had those in 97.

last BMW oil change: 'yes' box checked for 'oil change/service reminder light reset' --> NOPE - they NEVER reset it.

last Elantra oil change: -->...well...i must admit - no mistakes.

I like them, works as a good reminder......despite the 3k interval they usually notate.....at least at Walmart TLE, it's easy enough to just add another 2-3k to the sticker, and "sharpie" over the sticker

Masking tape just isn't too attractive

I'm not a big fan of the oil change stickers. I'm a clean windshield freak, and anything like a smudge (or, a sticker) drives me crazy. I got a bunch of free oil change stickers last year from AAP I think, and decided to see how I liked one on my windshield. Well, I didn't like it, and it's not that hard remembering when I last changed my oil anyhow. Then again, I only have 2 vehicles to maintain. I can see how they might come in handy for someone who has a 3 or more cars, plus lawn equipment, etc.

I never liked those stickers, but even more so now that a toll tag resides where the stickers are normally placed, so the stickers are placed below that and it bothers my peripheral vision. I always take them off as I change my oil every 5,000 miles and its easy to remember when the next one is due.

So far Castrol and Pennzoil refused to send oil change stickers, anyone had any luck getting them?
