If you have full coverage your insurance should pay to have it repaired.

On having the windshield replaced it depends on your insurance. Last one I had replaced cost me $100.00 insurance paid the rest. Seems most vehicles I have owned ended up having the windshield replaced sooner or later.

Can't say how much at the place you mentioned, but I had a rock-sized chip repaired for $40 at a local outfit here. (Drilled and filled)

Although the chip was filled, you can still see it when the light hits it right, since the fill was clear and my windshield's glass had a green tint.

These tend to be very unpredictable. Small ones can explode up into a huge crack very quickly, or may be easily repaired -- hard to tell.

I just had a total replacement a month or so ago -- and two weeks later, another hit in the same place, but smaller this time. Safelite came out and did a machine repair. Stopped it at about the 1/2 point and it's way over on the passenger side. Frustrating but acceptable. Good luck with it.

Also check your state's insurance regs. In FL we get windshield replacement and repair with no deductible. One of the few sensible provisions in FL insurance law...

My windshield guy replaced my windshield for 140 bucks with no tax, and he fixes small chips cracks for 40.

Thank you for all the help,I just found a coupon online for $19.95 at belle tire.I will check it out tomorrow to see if it is valad.

I've used the Permatex windshield repair kits with the suction cup & UV-cure resin. Always worked great, never any problems with it. You can still see the spot when the light catches it just right but it's far less visible and none of the rock chips propagated.
