i am looking at doing some injector cleaning in my basement this winter. i used to do this in the garage at my old place using b12 chemtool with good results. now i will have to do it inside in an area where chemical smells and flammable liquids will be a problem. my question is can i use a non flammable mix of regular rubbing alcohol (50%) and injector cleaner to clean them with and not cause any rust or other problems with the injectors if they are stored for long periods of time? is there a non flammable injector cleaner out there? something that will not stink up the whole house?

You might want to use Simple Green for cleaning, and then hitting the parts with a water displacement oil. I like Corrosion X for this, but I would think that WD-40 would work. Staight up quality alcohol might work just as well.

I'll admit that my knowledge of injectors is severly limited though.

If you add an organic solvent to rubbing alcohol, the water will fall out (separate). Over the counter rubbing alcohol is sold at 70% and 92% isopropanol. The balance is water. After you let the water settle, the organic phase will be fine. Seems like overkill though...
