Aren't the biggest benefits of Auto-Rx supposed to be apparent after the rinse final rinse phase, not the clean phase?

Interesting theory, though - guess I won't know until after the rinse phase and I switch back to synth.

I don't think that was the oil circulating after shut-down, it was likely the coolant.

I don't think it was the coolant...what I could hear is a small motor running (not the fan) after shut down. The hotter the motor was the longer it would run. The sound came around the turbo area.

Heck I put M1 5W30 in my 05 Toyota Matrix and it seems to be running a lot smoother..put it in at 3K and 7K it still seems great...

Yup, that's the after-run coolant circulation pump. Audi TT's (same basic 1.8T you have) have them as well.

I've never noticed a difference in engine smoothness between dino and M1 or Amsoil in about 5 cars. I know a good doctor that can get rid of that feeling though.

I always thought bulk oil in quick lube places was like jiffy lube was recyled oil.I know down here in Miami several people told me in quick lube places said their bulk oil was recyled.

I always get the bottled oil of the shelf.

You have to out of your mind to go to jiffy in the first place. The horror stories are endless on what they do there.

mineral oil "wets" better than Pao.

use a decible meter to confirm

"I believe one of the greatest breakthroughs in the development of this stuff can be attributed to the proprietary Interlink® molecular catalyst process that allegedly gives the molecules longer chain properties, without them actually being longer. This supposedly will conduct mechanical resonance from the origins of the harmonic/rensonance to locations that are less apparent to the human ear, effectively turning the entire engine into an acoustic/audio sink. It's been suggested that this could eventually lead to the obsolesence of countershaft technology as more and more forces can be conducted along this "fluid transmission highway" as development advances.

It shows great promise in consumer acceptance due to the pleasent side effects. Manufacturers get to enjoy broader lattitudes in design parameters since they no longer have to factor in audio annoyances"

Yea, and they install used oil filters too!

This is the effect of auto-rx. It causes engines to run smoother and quieter.

I've used it in 3 vehicles and it had the same effect in all 3.

yep. obfuscation for "not indicated" or "not shown".

In this case, probably "not listed for approved use" but not necessarily specifically disallowed.
