Why did my thread get locked?

Did you end up emailing Motorking about the problem? If so, what did he say?

If there was some "play" on the canister lip, why did you install the canister anyway? Why did you not resuse the old O-ring in the interim?

Not saying there wasn't an issue with FRAM, though I've never had any issues with their O-rings when doing oil changes on the 2GR-FE engines, but to call for a mass recall was perhaps a little over dramatic.
 
If mods have the discernment to lock a thread that has a misleading title and contains posts about referencing a conspiracy with the "Ultra rattle" and to what level this O-ring is a problem or an on-going problem...then I see how it happened. Maybe the fact that people were commenting without even knowing what the original thread was about and pulling things out of their heinies also helped.

Contact Fram and let us know what you find. There was already an explanation of why the thread was locked. There is no need to start another thread asking why your previous thread was locked.

I never had any problems with the rules. I dissagree with my thread being locked.

Thread was reopened. I locked it as there were user complaints regarding brewing drama. None of us do this as a day job - sometimes these threads need to be stopped, but we have other commitments that take time away from instantly reopening. I cleaned up some of the problematic posts and it is reopened. We do not need click bait titles that help create drama. The title is now clarified as well. Hope it stays civil. Time and time again, it has been seen that oil filter threads, more so than most any others, create drama between users.

Just contact Fram, don't need other Tundra owners to experiment. Fram will look in to it if you let them know the issue you're seeing.

What money exactly do you think the forum gets, or perhaps, that I get, for removing your unsubstantiated claim, with no basis or backing data, that "quality control sucks"?

So you follow it up with an unsubstantiated claim that there was some malice toward your post due to money.myou have to be joking.

It's an opinion formed based on reading and seeing countless threads on BITOG and other automotive forums. Last I checked 99% of banter I read on this site is opinion based.

Let me ask you a question. Why is it okay for Motorking to bash other products and his posts be ok but then have double standards towards us.

I'll leave it at that and I'm done with this thread.

You seem like the kind of guy that goes into Walmart, complains about it. Then talks about how the government owns Walmart and Super Tech oil and comes back next week.

I don't recall Motorking bashing other products. He might give performance numbers or manufacturing CCO info about some other products, but I wouldn't call it bashing if the data is factual. You got some links to your claim?

No I don't have links but I just remember him saying some negative things about Wix. I'll look for the threads and post them if I find them.

Keep in mind that there's a difference between negative facts, negative opinions/claims without backing it up, and negative outright lies when it comes to talking about anything.

A lot of peole on this chat board misinterpret negative facts as "bashing". If it's true and factual information, regardless if it's negative or not, I'd hardly call it bashing.

We are all here to talk about the positive and negative of products - as long as the claims are true and can be proven, then facts are facts.

Saw that … I’m a pretty solid FU type in the cans … but for cartridges I find Hengst to be my favorite …
