I'm seeing lots of these on cars in my shop. This is the 2nd one I have had in here that's leaking from the crimped seal near the baseplate.

Car came in for an oil leak.

Some quick lube I guess?

Have you seen any "we're looking for techs" stickers on oil filters? One of the dealers around here puts them on the oil filters they install. Good way to try to job hunt, but I would be annoyed if it was on my car.

No cant say that I have seen that. Pretty funny really. There are more people than jobs here. Us lucky ones don't have to spend 6+ hrs a day to commute to work.

At first that confused me, thinking why would they target the car owner ? They aren't changing their own oil so they aren't likely interested in that type of job. They're targeting the guy/girl at a shop who changes the oil the next time though. Sounds desperate....

Quality of service goes down when we approach a full employment economy. When I was a kid, my grandpa always told me to look out for a depression.

Looks a little Fram-y . MIght be a R.o.C. knockoff.

I recall in the 90's when we had a spate of Pur-o-lators leaking at the crimp
though sometimes a gasket weep can look like a crimp leak.
