I have been eagerly awaiting for my new paint job to cure sp I can wax , polish it

I was finally going to try out the Zaino stuff...

SO how is the new stuff? I may order the kit with the AIO & the clear seal..

thanks

The ZAIO is one heck of a product. I have only messed with it a couple times as I'm waiting until this weekend before I do a whole detail but it's just like AIO but it cleans better, and probably has better durabilty but time will tell that one. I also got the CS and I have only messed with that one too, but it's pretty cool and great on windows. If I was you I would definetly get ZPC, it is their best product. Now with ZAIO you don't have to buy ZFX, but if you want to really protect that paint consider spending the money on it. I would say a minimum order would be ZPC-ZAIO-Z2Pro and really consider adding Z5Pro as the combo Z2Pro/Z5Pro really really looks wet and deep. I would start with those 4 items and go up from there. I currently have every Zaino product except Z3 and I hear that is only recommended for paint that is in real bad shape.

I would just go with Z2 on new paint.
No need for the ZAIO yet.

I did a quick ZAIO a couple of days ago.
It was cold out so it was a quick job.
Nice product.
Though I'd like to add a coat of Z2 for more shine and protection but it's too #@$%! cold.
After Z2 a spritz of CS.
Z2 will last longer than just the ZAIO.

You need either ZFX or ZAIO to help the low VOC's Zaino sealants bond. This is how you get the great durabilty. If I only ordered one I'd go with ZAIO personally.

I Will have to look into them all....I have used the Klasse AIO and I liked it at first but wasnt overly impressed..that was on the old car..with the new paint job on the current car I want it to stay looking fresh as long as possible.

True on using ZFX with Z2.
I would go with Z2 with ZFX.
ZAIO has light abrasives and I wouldn't want to use a product with even light abrasives on new paint.
Just my .02.

I am leaning towards the Z2 with the ZXF since the paint is new and has fresh clear coat..dont want to scratch the clear more than needed and its not needed.

I cant wait to try this Z2

thanks

Put on at least two coats.
Also put on as thin as possible.
I'd add 3-4 drops to half the bottle(1 ounce)
Most Zaino newbies have a tendency to put it on too thick.
You'll have plenty left over for door jams, trunk, jams etc. if you desire to be anal.

.
You'll see how easy it is to use and you'll be very happy with shine and protection.

For the price, at least for me, try Optimum Poli-Seal since it is approx $17 for 32 and is great while Zaino AIO is $26 for 16 oz. Something to think about. I do not know durability of Zaino but OPS is like 5 - 7 months no issues. And it corrects surface etc.

I have only tried there clear seal.

oh heck....thats all I need more choices....

I was trying not to get myself all confused by looking at all the other choices like Duragloss and rejex and any of the other stuff...

was looking to see just what is so good about Zaino...

if there is something as good though, I will consider it as well...but would like to stay within same lines and not mix brands...

I just purchased the Zaino AIO, Zaino CS, Zaino Z-7 Car Wash and Z-8 Grand Finale for my daily. I haven't tried it yet as it's been way too cold, but when it gets warmer i'll let you know how it works, compared to the cheaper stuff i've used.

I think I've found the replacement for my Klasse AIO. Leaves a shinier and slicker finish when compared to Klasse AIO alone. The Klasse looks alittle more "sterile" (those using synths know what I mean). Will have to compare it once topped with Z2/Z5 to Klasse AIO and HGSG. The Klasse twins are quite a benchmark for shine, depth, and durability but the HGSG is a bit of a pain to use.

For a brand new finish, I would try it in a rather inconspicuous area first to determine if you need it or not. Just because the car is "new", doesn't mean the paint hasn't been subjected to all kinds of pollutants. This process doesn't take long to occur and generally can't be resolved using clay alone. I've seen "new" paint look much better after "correction" with a very light polish. ZAIO is extremely mild. Where you would have a marring issue would be through applicator type and pressure used. At least use it on the wheels (if painted). Brake dust and grime almost hose off.

This is an excellent point. Even brand new cars have contaminents in and on the paint. Plenty of new cars need to be clayed and some light polishing helps bring out the max shine. I've detailed plenty of "showroom fresh" cars and all of them needed some amount of polishing, if only to get the paint complelety clean.

And Shorty's right about clay not removing all the dirt and crud on paint. Case in point - I detailed a BMW M3 last week. It had been well cared for but I clayed it anyway. Not much in the way of contaminents came off the paint. But when I started machine polishing, the pad was getting loaded with dirt and grime the clay didn't touch.

And my Zaino AIO and CS are sitting here on my office desk, waiting for me to use them.

bretfraz and Colt : i have used Zaino Z-5 and Z-2 but i have to say MOTHERS Reflections blows Zaino away ,in ease of use and gloss and clarity. What are your opinions?

Mothers is good stuff, and is incredibly easy to use... but nothing has better clarity or durabilty than Zaino. Have you used the new Z2Pro and Z5Pro or are you talking about the old Z2 and Z5?

.
Personally,I can't see how Mother's is better in shine or protection than Zaino but if you feel it does stay with Mother's.
Different strokes for different folks.

I don't know how you quantify "blows Zaino away" in terms of gloss and clarity so it's hard for me to respond to the comparison.

I have almost the complete Mothers product line, including all the Reflections and F/X products. I agree they're very easy to use. They're excellent products for those who want to grab something from an auto parts store and not spend a ton of money.

I've found the Reflections product to mimic the look of carnauba wax (rich look, somewhat muted, good for solid or bright colors). The F/X products deliver a brighter, glossier shine, more bling for the tuner crowd who like that look. F/X Synwax has a look more like Zaino to my eyes.

For those looking for a store bought wax for under $20, Mothers gets a top recommendation from me.

HI bretfraz, thanks for the response , what do you think of Mothers Sealer Glaze. I have used this on a black Lexus and the results were better than Zaino. I used this as a stand alone product and the gloss and wetness was incredible.

Mothers Glaze is a classic old skool product. Like all glazes, it's comprised of oils and fillers which give paint a very rich, deep look. Glazes look best on dark colors, esp black where the depth of paint is most noticeable.

I would not recommend using a glaze as a stand alone product as it offers no protection and has little durability. Top the glaze with a pure carnauba wax and you'll be good to go. Not the most durable combo but it sure looks good on black.

I've owned several black cars over the years and have used them to generate customers for my detailing business. I used to be a big One Grand Omega Glaze & Blitz Wax guy. That combo on black certainly made me money back in the day.
