Q.

??????????????????????

The thicker oil takes longer for gravity to pull down. The thicker oil takes longer to pump up too:)

If you want something that clings to parts, you basically want a lube with a lot of ester in it. Here's a list, in *my* descending order of preference:

- RLI BioSyn
- Motul 300V
- Red Line

If you can't get any of those, go for Mobil 1's high-end formulations, Motul's X-Max and X-Lite series, or just about anything from Amsoil. They're probably not as ester-heavy but they will have at least some.

THANKS!!!!

Schaeffer uses a proprietary antifrictional additive "micron moly" - it plates to the cylinder walls - so the base oil itself may have drained off by the next start-up, but the micron plating remains.

The inside of the engine is going to remain coated with oil for a very very long time regardless of the oil used. The valvetrain and crankshaft and all connecting rod bearings will all remain oiled. THe enemy is air and moisture wich in time can wash the oil off the cylinder walls and allow surface pitting to begin to occur. It comes in two places. Through the open exhuast and intake valvesand the PCV system. THere are procedures to prepare a vehicle for long term storage that are fairly reliable.
Otherwise I believe this search for oil cling..is simply a wasted effort.

Yeah, who cares? The only matter would be the time interval window between the one oil's "cling" and another's. Hello 1972.
