At about the same cost I can follow one of the two following paths regarding ATF, I would like to get the opinion of the experts on this forum as to which they would follow (or to add/correct my choices). This is on a newly rebuilt unit.

1) Change out 4 qts of semi-syn (using QS Mercon V/DIII or AAMCO semi-syn) about every 6K using just the factory drain plug on the tranny. Change filter and full fluid swap every 30K,

or

2) Go full-syn (M1 or similiar) and do a full fluid swap and filter change at 30K.

If it helps this is on a 92 Subaru SVX, & that model is known for running a bit hot and cooking the clutches. So, I have an external filter, use the factory radiator cooler and and external plate/fin cooler by Hayden (16,000GVW) in series.
