+1

Never used Citgo lubes, and never will. (This being the reason)

I was just joking. I got Syntec in the truck, RP in the wife's car, and NAPA in the old van.

(...and on the shelf, I got Valvoline Synpower, Mobil 1, and maybe some PP left.)

So after living on this site that suppose to have all the answers that you have not even asked yet, may I as why do you have more different oils than you have vehicles to put them in ?

How come you ahve not yet figured out the BEST OIL to use ???

With the cars I currently have, I have a use for any API SH, SJ, SL or SM.
Therefore, I would not use any oil not meeting at least API SH.
Naturally, I do have preferences, but at the right (dirt cheap) price point, either '97 could find itself running SH.
There aren't any API licensed junk oils, FWIR.
I think the only SL I have in my current stash is GC, which only comes as SL. I think everything else is SM.
If I came across some SL (or SH) at a really decent price, like well under a buck a quart, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I would not use SuperTech. There are enough good oils out there at rock bottom prices, there is just no point in use WalMart oil in a vehicle I actually somewhat care about.

Any other regular mainstream brand is fairgame for me at least.

I've used

Formula Shell
Mobil 1
YB and PP
QS Conventional
Esso conventional
Valvoline conventional and All Climate
Castrol GTX/Syntec
Motomaster Formula 1 (conventional, synthetic), and "Supreme"

What I want to run at some point: Esso XD-3 and Maxlife Synthetic

Never use peanut or canola. Both have ruined my arteries.

I know people who have always had good luck with baby oil. But I don't know where the babies come from.

I saw some good old city star today at wholesale liquidators .Hey ,can it be all bad . It was rated sa.

Any one based on an unsaturated vegetable oil. I spent 10 years of my life making paint out of them.

Try putting a little motor oil and some cooking oil on a hot surface exposed to the air. After a half hour, which do you want on your cylinder wall?
