Valvoline MaxLife motor oil is designed for high mileage vehicles of 75,000 miles or more. However, it is perfectly acceptable for use in new or used vehicles with less than 75,000 miles.

Their site also says MaxLife is a 30% Syn blend. MaxLife is a great oil!

I agree, Maxlife is a very good oil, but I wouldn't use it in a new car with a turbo. There are better choices.

Where's Ed Hackett? He's using conventional Rotella 10w30 in his Legacy GT while under warranty.

Maybe I'll ask the head tech at my dealership how many use the dealer conventional bulk fill vs. bringing in their own synthetic or requesting the dealer's optional Syntec or M1 fill.

If I ran a conventional or synthetic blend, I would probably use Auto-RX every 30k miles or so.

just go with QSGB,PYB,VWB,MC5K or Castrol GTX they are all good conventional oil.

Not trying to disagree, but I wonder what would be better for a turbo application outside of a full syn? ML has two properties that, IMO, makes it an excellent turbo choice (short of full syn.) 1) It has a 30% blend opposed to the 15-20% some others have, and 2) its formulated on the "thick" side of the viscosity range. Sounds great for turbos...
