I have been buying the 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 5w20 for my oil changes at WalMart. It seems lately that WalMart is not stocking the Mobil 1 5w20, where can I find the 5 quart jug? Are all WalMarts discontinuing the 5w20 5 quart jug?

I've seem to have noticed a decline in them at Wallmarts also!....However everytime I Pop in to one, I check their supply & grab one in they have em........

As for as I know, 5-quart jugs are only sold at Wal-Mart. That's one of their requirements from oil companies. They wanted to be different from other parts and discount stores.

Guys,

You might not believe this but Wally World owns the patent on the idea of a 5 qt. jug.

You can find 4 qt. jugs elsewhere but the 5 qt's are only at Wal Mart

I was just at Wally World. Plenty of M1 5w-20.

Lady was stalking shelves and mentioned now that WM is running much more lean in terms of 'back room stock'.

'If it is not on the shelf, we probably don't have it. They want the stuff to go straight from the truck to the shelf'.

No, I don't believe it. I see 5qt jugs at almost all auto parts stores.

I've noticed many places have discontinued 5 qt jugs of 5w-20.

Just that grade. It is easier to find 10w-40 or 20w-50 than it is 5w-20 in 5 qt jugs.

Both of our local WalMarts say they have 5W-20 over a year old because they can not get rid of it. They said they were not going to reorder 5W-20 in any brand. They had a big clearance sale on the 1 quart bottles.

The local Walmart is really low on many types of 5W-20, and completely out of others with no shelf space to restock it. That really does not make me happy, as Walmart is one of the few places around here that I can actually find 5W-20.

The local Wal-Marts over here have a layer of dust on their bottles and jugs of 10w40 thick enough to grow a garden on, yet they have about 50 facings of 10w40, while all empty facings for 5w20 sit behind price tags.

The 5w20 Motorcraft sells out faster than they can get it on the shelves. I've been hoping to get lucky for a month so I can buy some. I saw Castrol GTX 5w20 in 5 Qt jugs a little over a week ago, but didn't feel like waiting in line. I went in about three days later and it was completely sold out.

The problem isn't that 5w20 doesn't sell. The problem is their sales figures are goofed up because they just are stocking enough of it, thus people are buying the other weights.

It is the same at Autozone. They have a total of about two facings there, which again, are empty.

The exception is the $6.80 a quart synthetics.

The really frustrating part of this is these places had about three times as many facings of 5w20 a year ago.

Nay. My local AutoZone has 5-qt jugs of their house brand on special this month. I've seen other brands available at AZ in that size as well.
