hey guys, I'm getting new wheels on my truck tomorrow, MB Wheels brand. I normally use an all in one Tire and Wheel cleaner to get a nice, deep black shine on my tires, and a nice shininess on the wheels. What products are safe for aftermarket wheels? Or does having aftermarkets not make a difference? Thanks!

I've always just used car wash soap on a regular basis! I've never used any specific wheel cleaner! If you like the results of your all-in-one wheel/tire cleaner, keep using it!

I've tried most OTC wheel cleaner products that you'd find at a typical auto parts store. None of them work well. Most contain harsh chemicals, that over time, ruin the finish. I've since started using Sonax. Not cheap, but well worth it, especially if the new wheels are complicated to clean by hand. Check it out!

Spray it on, go from one wheel to the next, repeat, then go back and spray it off in the same order you sprayed it on.

Ill second this. I have the one for "chrome finish" and it works great. I spray around all 4, then scrub, and rinse off. I have a 2012 Cadillac, and the finish still looks like new 4 years later.

I don't think I understand the question. You're asking about wheel cleaner, then saying you like the deep black shine on the tires.

Are you looking for a wheel cleaner product (that removes contaminants) or a tire shine (that applies a coating)?

(Also: this probably belongs in the "Detail and Wax" subforum...)

BMW dealerships carry this stuff and I can't stand the stuff as I find it makes a huge mess.
