What’s the word on the street for Mobil 1 Extended Performance High mileage?

.I use it in my 2007 Ford Fusion 2.3 (268K) with great results at 10K OCIs. Keeps my engine very clean, no signs of engine wear, engine remains quite for the 2.3 with no chain or guide noise, and my engine only uses 2-4 oz of oil in my normal 10 K OCI.

No "better" or "worse" than any other API certified full synthetic. Just more expensive.
Actually that’s not true. You get a 20,000 mile guarantee from Mobil, do the other manufacturers offer that? And when you read the guarantee it’s relatively free from restrictions. Not that you’ll ever use it however.

So OP, what are your criteria? What would make it average or superior? How do you tell?

Generally if you use an oil for 1/2 of its marketed life span you should get good results. Why not 20K?

I tend to think a lot of good oil gets tossed from what i read on this site.

Good luck getting them to pay for any problems that arise. If you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed I will, I got spare time. But for now, for you customer's sake, for your daughter's sake you might want to think about buying a quality product.

M1 is not a quality product?

10K has been normal for the last 43 years. In 1978 when I first started using M1 5-20 I was doing 10K OCIs even though the oil was rated for 25K.👍 Besides I can afford it, and I'm 75 and pretty much do as I please.

Mhm, somehow that's what I suspected the quality of your response might be.

Non-technical yapping about nothing of substance. Where do these jokers come from?

I have friends that do 15-25K OCIs with M1 oils and put well over 300K before replacing their vehicle. JS

This is a very true statement. I coined the term "BITGO money flush".

I might get crucified here for doing this but I currently have Mobil 1 AP in the sump with 5000 miles on it and it will be changed out in the very near future. I put it in one year ago. I got it on rollback clearance price if that helps.

How do I tell? I don’t know lol. I come to Bitog and ask the experts. I was previously using M1 0w-40 in a Ford turbo and accidentally grabbed the high mileage Mobil 1 EP instead of regular EP as I had planned. I noticed a hit on the gas mileage using 0w-40 however I don’t necessarily attribute it to the oil as I just replaced tires and we switched to winter blend fuels here in California. Not to mention the increase in air resistance and density driving through 30-40 degree F air instead of the usual 100+.

Initially I was just having doubts whether I placed the right oil in the motor, I always figured high mileage oil was for beaters and jalopies. The car does have 95,000 miles.
