I am amazed that all of a sudden RP OTC are giving problems. I have used them fo 14 years on an extended basis. I run 15,000 miles with a filter change at 5000 miles. My numbers have always been good.
On this forum the only problem I have seen is with the oil losing a little vis, normally thru fuel dilution. Yet the true test of an oils ability to lubricate, is in it's ability to separate the metals. I have yet to see a BAD example of RP in the wear metals category.
Every time there is a problem with competitive oils and their wear metals, it is the Synthetic solvency cleaning the varnished oils out. Never the oils fault. After all it stayed in spec, vis wise. RP has a natural solvency, yet this is never taken into account on analysis.
We have legions of GC users, all based on one mans love of GC. The fact that the virgin Oil analysis showed 11 ppm iron was ignored. It was of course in grade vis wise, and stayed there, even though it made a lot more metal.
We have a world record for Rotary motors in Australia, David Canitz at the factory races and works with Rotary teams to get longer life.
If you want to talk to someone regarding RP and Rotaries, call David at the factory, or call Racing Beat.
After all, they have experience with it, unlike some of the guru's.
