What's a good oil for my old beast?

I had the same engine in my 2001 Ram 2500. Ran Mobil 1 10W-30 until it reached 75K miles. Switched to Mobil 1 10W-30 HM at that point and ran it until I traded for my 2014 Ram. Engine ran perfectly for 14 years.

As stated, I would try the Pennzoil Platinum HM.

My dad worked for a Chrysler dealer as the service manager. He despised everything Chrysler except all of the vehicles with the "360 V8". He ended up purchasing a 97 (maybe 98) Dakota R/T. My parents LOVED this truck. To this day it is their favorite car. My dad romped the snot out of that thing and it kept begging for more. They eventually had to sell it because it wasn't practical with two car seats. I'm glad to see one of these cars left on the road.

^^^ Yes, there is very little (to nothing) to be gained by spending more money.
