What vitamins/supplements do you take?

A generic mens multivitamin. Try as I do to eat right, sometimes the job just gets in the way. So I start each day with a multivitamin. I believe I'm less hungry when I do that, as my body knows it has much of it's needed nutrients.

I do believe that many folks who are always hungry are craving some vitamin or mineral, but don't get it. They are putting the wrong food in their body and are just get fat, not nourished.

This is what I had before I decided to quit taking all that stuff.

To much, 200 to be exact, I'm 5'4". But 9 years ago I had cancer which is now in remission, weighed 100 lbs at that time, and was told I needed to gain weight, ever try to loose weight. Not as easy as gaining it.

I'm 45 years old and physically I feel like I'm 25 and don't take any vitamins/supplements. Riding my bicycle helps reduce stress and keeps the flab off. I eat a balanced diet and I weight only 10 Lbs more than when I graduated high school. I try and stay away from fried foods, TV dinners and junk food.

Right, at 45 so did I, but then I got old, not likely I'll be around but just in case I am, let me know how its going by the age of 65 plus.

I heard a good turn of the phrase about taking lots of pills instead of diet and exercise for medical problems that diet and exercise can treat just as well as a pill cocktail.

The cancer survivors I know are grateful for the cocktails they took during their battles with cancer that made the suffering less. And the one person I knew in high school who survived more medical scares in 17 years alive than two regular people will ever experience was likewise very thankful for all the meds she had to take to treat her life-threatening problems.

It all depends what those pills are being taken for, and whether there is a viable non-medicine alternative FOR THAT PERSON.

Hopefully everything will be OK for the both of us in 20 years.

Some areas of the USA known as the 'diabetes belt' simply need a better diet, more exercise and less pill popping.

To help deal with the severe migraines due to the MS:
Vitamin B2 = 300 MG p/day
Magnesium = 450 MG p/day

From what I've read, 2000mg of Magnesium for migraines.

Not taking vitamins every day isn't as bad as some think.

Your body gets used to that amount of intake, and gets lazy.
On again and off again keeps the body using them at peak effectivity.
I've read that somewhere too!

That said, I take a multivitamin (senior), a multi mineral, B-12, and Glucosamine.
On occasion, I add vitamin D,E and calcium.

It is the amount my Neurologist recommends for me.

I take 1 garlic supplement for cholesterol/blood pressure levels, according to my dr., and a regular multi-vitamin with score lines....I take 1/2 tablet every day.

I've read that a lot of those "multis" aren't good because they have "too much" of "everything" and your body really doesn't need it all, so that's why I split the dosing.

I alter the amounts of a large family of vitamins and herbals that I've taken for decades.

Just had 3 pages of PERFECT blood work taken at 55, my Doc says "whatever you do keep doing it".

The more I read about the anti cancer properties in "Vitamin M" the more I am interested!!!!

Vitamin M is the bee's knees for the yucky feeling chemo gives you. Least that is what I've heard. I take a packet of old guy vitamins, minerals and herbs daily, If I have been sweating profusely due to the tamoxiphen I take, I'll take 2 packets. I found it prevents the leg cramps.

Two tablespoon bee pollen per day, soaked in 8 oz of water for 12 hours in frig. Since I eat a lot of fish(sashimi and poke), Wild Turkey Oregano oil to keep the things clean. Like that stuff. My HDL Cholesterol is 86. Doc said keep doing what you're doing.
