Im installing a new windshield seal on my car and there are a few areas where the paint has been scratched off from previous windshield installations. What should I use to coat the bare metal before putting on the new seal?

I will say red oxide or zinc oxide primer. 🤷‍♂️

I got the old sealer cleaned off the pinch weld. The black you see is the primer beneath the paint that got rubbed off over the years. I dont think i need any fancy primer as this is not a glue on windshield. I just want to cover the primer and some scratch marks.

Ok so i ended up using some Rustoleum automotive grey primer and then i top coated with a small can of Rustoleum almond with some hardener added. I used a small brush to put it on. I applied 2 Coates. I was very pleased with the paint color match and the hardness for the $35 investment. Included pics of the pinch weld painted and the new windshield seal installed.
