What stereo amplifier/receiver?

12-gauge speaker wire is fairly thick. Unless you're running very long distances, 14-16g is enough.
Pete… this is BITOG. “Enough” is insufficient, “too much” is a bare minimum, and “massive excess” is the third bowl of porridge.

@Pablo you think you can get some 1/0 banana plugs? 😂

I didn't know there was another gauge other than 12ga for home audio ;)

I ran 12ga through the walls for my in-wall 7.1 in the living room & used the rest of the spool for the three 2ch setups in bedroom, office & lounge. As you say though, "too much is the bare minimum".

As long as it’s OFC and not CCA! If it’s CCA, one inch is too much!

Without doing any research, I'd likely look a Denon although everything has gotten so lightweight. Just that at the price point given, kinda like my buddy asking for advice on a laptop when he wants to keep it under $400, is there really really that much difference among the models within the range? Maybe look to reviews and make sure not too many warranty claims/failures.

When it comes to audio I tend to buy second hand but stick with brands or units that are easily serviceable with generic yet high quality parts. Checking out audio karma or other sites will give you a lead but also checking with a quality local tech on what they service should save a bunch of hassle. Heck, the tech might even have gear that people never came back for that’s already serviced.

I hope your Marantz comes back better than ever.
Came back NPF

No problem found. They said they tested it multiple times, full load. 32 hours then 16 hour cycles. (Adam's Electronics in Huntington Beach)
But there were clues. The unit does record error codes, which they cleared initially. But it basically said there WERE internal AND external faults (Hmmm???)
I checked it this AM. Just fine.

It's now listed on eBay, $400 Free shipping. Actually a really good deal.

How is the Fosi gear performing?
Out flipping standing. I want to bad mouth it or something, but wow. I was expecting to put up with some noise or something. Nope. Very nice.

I mean I didn't hate Marantz, it sounded nice too, but I just don't trust it. The buyer is getting very well tested, extremely clean amp at a great price.

Nice. I'm liking my little Douk amp as well. It is 1/10th the size of my Emotiva amp, and sounds just as good and just as strong. Plus the Emotiva needs 5 minutes to warm up every time I turn it on for the distortion to go away.
