There is your answer on viscosity and it all depends upon the environment you drive in. In Phoenix during a hot summer the inside feels hot even with the AC at maximum. You know in that kind of heat you need to go thicker.
I guess the local mechanics can guide you on what you need if you dont know.
Outside of the us the 2gr uses everything from 0w-20 to 20w-50. Use whatever you want but realistically 40 grade is plenty. Even though I'm a thickie I'd still expect to get a lot out of it with a good 0w-20 like esp as long as the engine was taken care of before which that one seems to have been. But I'd always get esp 0w-30 instead.
It's rare I exceed 3000 rpm, and when I do it's only for a short time like when I'm passing a car. Usually on the highway I run between 2,000 and 2,500 RPM hour after hour. Probably a very easy life for a 2grfe.

I have a 2014 4Runner and a 2020 Tundra I run Valvoline Advanced or Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 I have 140,00 on the 4Runner and 70,000 on the Tundra I put 191,000 on my last Tundra using the same stuff. I am not saying its the best. I never have oil worries. I do change very often between 4000 and 5000 miles. Depends on weather time and how many short trips.
