Today I bought as a commuter car, a meticulously maintained 1993 Camry 3.0 V-6! Near perfect condition! It has been running Dino for it's whole 107,000 mile life. Manual states I can run either 5w30 or 10w-30 depending on the ambient temps. Would it be better for me to switch it to a Synthetic Oil, or continue it on a good quality dino, hopefully for another 100,000 miles?

I would run Pennzoil YB 5w30 or Maxlife dino 5w30 or Quaker State dino 5w30 from Walmart for 5000 OCI maximum intervals.

If you want to run a synthetic then PP 5w30 would be my choice. With the PP $15 rebate it may just be cheaper to get the 5qt jugs at walmart ($20) and the rebate. I have run PP in all my Toyotas with excellent results.

x2 on the suggestions.

Did you get a Sludge Test before purchasing? If not the detergents in synthetic "could" possibly clog the filters prematurely.

No, but I did check under the oil cap & the dipstick! All looked quite clean!

1993 is pre sludge.

I have the 93 Camry V6. Used syntheitc for first 150,000 at which point it started seeping oil from nultiple places. Still have it, runs great just seeps. Still have original starter, Alternator, Exhaust been a great car.

I would stay with a dino only because my experience with high mileage engines changed over to synthetic has been seepages start several thousand miles later. If no problems like leaks or seepages stay with a non HM dino but if some seepages go the HM route. I am using Maxlife now due to seepages.

I have used 10W30 entire life

True. It's not even the same engine. The 93 V-6 Camry had the 3VZ-FE engine. The one that had a sludge issue was the 1MZ-FE, a newer, different design.
