I think it is a very dark blue or almost black i the bottle.

I was thinking at one point I'd been given a free sample pouch of Amsoil 2 stroke oil and it was amber

How long ago, Saber could have been amber many years back?
The old injector oil was amber I think.

Did the smart move. No reason to trust it. Dumped and starting over with your own can't go wrong. 
Unknown really it’s been blue since 2008 if not before because I remember my buddy mixed it 30:1 in his motored bike when we first started that business. Oil friggen everywhere hahaha he then went 50:1 and fine

Well I just found it out in the shop so I guess I never actually opened it to see the color. Obviously I remembered incorrectly. I apologize for any confusion
@Fordiesel69 looks like a pic of your IPA. I have never seen 2stroke that color. I would have dumped it too.
