Those were cool, weren't they? Had 'em on the 86 Capri.

Definitely! And for the last couple of years I owned that Mustang, I also had a 95 Trans Am that I bought new and it also had t-roofs. I got rid of both the Mustang and the Trans Am so that I could order a 98 Firebird Formula and I wanted to keep the car low cost (and lightweight) so I didn't order too many options, but I just had to order the t-roofs though! (even though that added 12 pounds of weight, it was worth it!)

back in the day, my brother had special ordered a '86 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z w/ the Shelby handling package, T tops and NO A/C! funny, car w/ leather interior and no air. but he just had to have those t-tops!

Nice collection!

I started driving in 1984. Here goes:

1972 Chevy Nova: 250 inline six with 2 speed Powerglide (unbreakable but lousy carb setup.)
1978 VW Rabbit: Gas FI w/ 4 speed (fun but temperamental)
1975 Chevy Malibu coupe: 350 2bbl/automatic (My great aunt gave it to me in '87 withI put a stock 4 bbl on it; should have kept this one.)
1982 Toyota Tercel: 1.5l 5 speed (Great mileage and reliability but body felt like a tin can.)
1966 VW Beetle 1.2L 40HP 4 spd: (Clean cheapie that I drove for a summer and had lots of fun with - should have kept it. Somewhere along the line the original 1300 50HP engine was replaced with a junkyard '65 1200 40 HP. I found that out when I tried to buy a replacement fuel pump and the new one didn't match.)
1982 Datsun 210 1.5l 5 speed: (POS beater rustbucket oil burner. Probably the smoothest idling 4 cyl. I have owned. Ran great in spite of the oil burning and soon gave to my future FIL. He drove it until it literally disintegrated.)
1985 VW Jetta 1.8L 5 speed: (Great car - bought it used with 72K and sold with 175K.)
1985 Audi 4000S 1.8L 5 speed: (Well built and fun to drive, but rebadged VW parts cost a fortune.)
1960 VW Beetle 1.2L 36hp. 4 spd.: (Cool old driver that I kept around from 1996 until last year. After it was apparent that I would not get around to restoring it anytime soon, I sold it rather than have it deteriorate. My eight-year-old son is still not happy. It lives in NJ now with a new owner who is giving it the attention it deserves.)
1989 VW Jetta GL 1.8L 5 speed: (Great car - until my wife rolled it but she thankfully walked away without a scratch.)
1990 VW Passat GL wagon 2.0L 4sp auto: (Cavernous, comfy interior, great handling and worst shifting automatic transmission I have ever owned/driven. I should have passed on it for that reason.)
1990 Honda Accord LX coupe 2.2L 5 speed: (Excellent car - one of my all-time favorites that I still miss 12 years later. Totaled at a light by a garbage truck in '99.)
1986 VW Jetta GL 1.8L 5 speed: (REALLY clean old Jetta bought in 1999 to replace the Accord as a stopgap. I wish I had this one back.)
1994 Honda Accord LX wagon 5 speed: (Spotless car purchased with 54K on it in 2000. Sold with 150K after we decided we needed a minivan.)
1990 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6 5 speed 2WD: (Bought as a knock-around truck but ended up driving it a whole lot as I really liked it. Rust got it in 2005.)
1981 Mercedes 300SD 3.0 4spd auto.: (Bought as a project to experiment with running waste veg oil. Turned into a money pit due to hidden rust, etc. Impressive top speed for an old Diesel!)
1991 VW Jetta GL 1.6L Diesel: (Another REALLY clean old Jetta bought as a commuter. It didn't have a turbo and was not too good with hills here in NE PA with the A/C on. Sold it in 2006 for a small fortune on Ebay when gas prices spiked as I no longer needed it as a commuter. I really should have kept this one.)
1991 Volvo 740 GL 2.3L 4spd auto: (Rust free old Volvo bought as our cheap second car in 2006. Slow, steady and boring. Since I work from home, it sits most of the time and will probably last indefinitely if I choose to do so.)
1998 Nissan Quest GXE 3.0L 4spd. auto: (Nice looking and driving minivan that I eventually dropped out of for peanuts due to intermittent transmission and ignition problems. Overall this was a disappointing end to a car that I would still be driving.)
1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 4 spd. auto.: (REALLY clean Jeep that I bought in '08 for $2K less than book when gas first spiked to $4/gal. This one has been a surprise having already provided 75K largely trouble free miles shuttling my wife around. It will hit 200K in about a month and I expect to still have it when it hits 300K.

Whew... and that didn't include all of the cars that were my parents' cars that I regularly drove as well as the cars that my wife had while we were dating. We haven't owned a new car to date and I don't know if we ever will. After all of these cars and hundreds of thousands of miles, a head gasket on a Jetta was the largest repair that we actually incurred.

Started driving in 1983 on parents 1973 Caprice station wagon.

1. 1977 Mustang II (5.0) - Loved that car, *horrific* mpg.

2. 1980 Rx7 - Drove it for years. Radiator cap let go, the overheat killed it

3. 1986 Rx7 - Excellent car, super reliable

4. 1993 240sx coupe - First 'new' car. Loved it, lost job, had to sell it.

5. 1987 Rx7 Turbo II - apex seal broke at 122k, destroyed engine.

6. 1993 Mx3 - 2nd 'new' car. Wasnt fast, but very reliable.

7. 1984 Accord - Dad gave it to me, 2 deer on a very snowy night killed it at 293,00 miles

8. 1995 4Runner - Drove nice, very reliable, not much power

9. 2001 sequoia - Smooth, comfortable, nice V8. Love it. Its a keeper.

10.1993 240sx convertible - I get at least one unsolicited offer every month to buy it. Funnest car I have ever owned, by far. I'll keep her until she dies. Maybe even after that....

11. 1996 Corvette - Awesome power, nice mean sounding exhaust. Surprisingly, the least fun car I have every owned. Found myself avoiding driving it. Sold it after less than 15,000 miles. What a letdown. Should have bought a C5 instead.

12. 2012 Mazda3 2.5 - Love it. All of it. Everything about it.
