your nuts,,i've used zaio,,, and thers no way it would hold up
that long,,i call B.S!!!!!!

I'd agree. Collinite 476s can hold its own against Duragloss, Klasse and Zaino in the looks department and exceeds those mentioned in durability.

NuFinish is the most durrable by far that I have used. I have tried many waxes including Zaino and Duragloss now and both did not last nearly as long as Nufinish. They shine better but as far as longevity nothin beats Nufinish.

How long can you go between applications of Nufinish and how does it hold up during the winter, ie. salt, slush, etc?

I definitely disagree. Tens times more durable? I've found Zaino to be about equal to 476S or possibly very, very slightly more durable. And I'm talking about Zaino CS which is their most durable product according to Sal Zaino.

My Impala sat outside for 9 months. It had a fresh coat of Nufinish applied at the start and after 9 months sitting out side in Colorado water still beaded like it was just applied. All other waxes lasted no longer then 3 months and were done!

ZAIO is a one step, you need to finish it with a lsp. Collinite doesn't even come close to Zaino as far as durability or looks. 476 is a very durable for a wax, 845 is not.

You do NOT need to finish Z-AIO with a LSP or anything else. You can if you want to but it is not required.

Clipped from Zaino's website:

The advanced polymeric substructures within Z-AIO produces optically perfect layers to all paint types, yet also provides excellent adhesion and detergent resistance, resulting in a strong and glossy layer of polymer based synthetic protection.

Z-AIO can either be used by itself, or as an excellent foundation & bonding agent for the full line of advanced Zaino Show Car Polish Products.

Although it is not required, you may follow up Z-AIO with application of any Zaino Show Car Polish protectant, including our new advanced Z-CS Clear Seal, or Z-2 PRO or Z-5 PRO products.

I am in Louisiana visiting my family, my grandmother is dieing, and I scored 3 cans of Collinite 476 for $7 a piece at the Harbor freight here. They have 5 bottles of the insulator wax #845 for $9. Did not get any of those but am considering getting one just to try it.

That's half of what the HF here charges for 476s.

It was on clearance for $7, assumed it used to be around the normal price of $15.99. I figured what the heck and got the last 3 cans of it. Washed and waxed my moms Honda Element and my dads Scion.

When I did my dads, I put it on the whole vehicle then buffed it off. I did a little too thick and waited too long before I buffed it off, was a pita to get off. So on my moms, I did thin and only did a few panels at a time and it was much easier. Going to put on another coat tomorrow and be done with those.

Im debating getting the 845 to try out too. not sure yet

Bret,
I meant you have to finish it to maximize durability. it's not fair to compare an AIO against a LSP when talking about durability. The cleaners in AIO's prevent the maximum durability potential of a sealant, as I'm sure you know.

Lets also not forget that 476S has the title of a "wax", reality is with all the synthetic properties in the chemistry, really its a paste sealant that carries the title of being a wax.

Nufinish is the best for all around price vs performance ratio. It shines decent, lasts a very long time all summer for me, and it is cheap & easy to apply and rub off. Yes other waxes may shine more, but they also cost more.

Collinite will give you many more applications per container than NuFinish. The smell of NuFinish is awful...that is why it is only recommended once a year. 8-)..compared to many other products, it is not as easy to apply/remove. Of course, Collinite must be applied thinly as well or it will be a bear to remove. NuFinish always stained trim too.

The problem is there is no standard to define "lasts a very long time".

Collinite and NuFinish are two different products.

Collinite will not polish paint or remove/reduce oxidized paint like NuFinish will. Collinite is a protective wax only, meaning if you need to improve the overall finish of your paint, you will need to use other polishes first.

NuFinish has strong paint cleaning ability which is why it smells the way it does. It's the chemicals and abrasives in NuFinish that help restore or improve your paint's finish, just like in their TV commercials. Collinite cannot do what NuFinish does, especially to older, neglected cars.

It's fine to have your favorites but it's important to understand how the products work and why. Always use the right product for the job at hand.

I was at a Harbor Freight in Missouri this weekend and picked up two cans of Collinite 476S for $7 a piece on clearance.

After hearing all the rave reviews of the stuff, I figured it would be worth trying some out on the cheap.
