The only thing I can figure is the ecores webfors got were not made to spec, and didn't have the required amount of filkter pleats and surface area.

But still if they are sometimnes not made to spec, that is a problem that a metal center-tube filter could get away with. But you can't get away with it in an ecore.

Yeah we all know about GM quality LOL

Why did they go bankrupt again ?

It's funny or sad, depending on one's perspective, to see Champ Labs ecores fall from grace as a BITOG darling in a couple of short years, much like A-RX, FP3000, SLOB, etc.

The consensus of the majority is usually always correct.

And how much time with alllll the other designs and testing they have to do they spend time on filter construction? not hardly i bet, they send specs in and go,I'm sure the testing department isn't funded much for filter performance.

Dodge offered a Lifetime Powertrain warranty with Purolator made Mopar filters, they must think they are better.

So I guess the same can be said with their factory oil fills?

I wonder why it took so long ?

I think Champion Labs probably developed and tested the ecore, and apparently GM was satisfied with the testing, and probably did some of their own testing. I think maybe the bad ecores are ones not beinmg made to the original spec.

I agree it could be a manufacturing quality issue. You can make a drawing and a spec to create/build something perfect ... but if you don't build it to spec (bad manufacturing quality) then it's potentially junk.

There is a huge leap between designing it correctly and building it per those perfect design specs.

If it depended on the supporting plastic not having a single flaw, then it wasn't designed correctly.

A stamped and rolled mild steel perforated tube can be defective in many ways and still not fail catastrophically. It looks like the E-Core plastic support structure is susceptible to collapse if there is a nick or other flaw in the plastic structure.

I would like to see an independent failure analysis on the filter.
