The base oil(s) are the main reason for high flash points with certain additives affecting in a secondary sense.

1. Base oil
2. Additives
3. Amount of additives (Low-SAPS oils always have higher flash point).

From what I've gathered full saps has more additives and higher tbn. While low saps has lower additives and lower tbn. Lower saps is made more to protect newer emission systems as well as deposits from direct injection. My Audi is a 2002 so would a low saps or full saps oil be more beneficial? Also would it really even matter in something of that age? I read that older engines would like full saps rather than low saps. But I'm not sure how old they were referring to

Gearhead, your original question has been answered correctly no less than three times.

Concentrating on just one aspect of an oil is myopic.

Consult the Owner's Manual if you want to know the correct oil to use.

Hmmm...seems 02s4audi has a 2002 audi as well. How many times are you going to ask the same question and under how many different names? The answer is:" Use engine oil meeting Volkswagen Oil Standard 502.00". You can change names, but the oil remains VW 502.00.

That would be too easy for him. He would then have to find something else to obsess about.
