Toyota, and now a try on the Lexus...
The newer Toyota filters are not paper... depends on the part NUMBER you are buying.
BUt I'll tell you this, on an engine with no problems, you can run the heck outa one...
I like 'Em and know of no better filter on the market per se, perhaps the Pure One is close behind.
I'm pretty set in my ways on oil but my current plan is to try different filters on my wife's Grand Am since she puts on miles faster than I do, and get UOA's with each filter. K&N, Mobil 1, NAPA Gold, Purolator Pure ONE, all seem good. AC for hers, Motorcraft for my truck too.
I use Motorcraft FL400S on my Ranger. Walmart keeps them in stock at $2.77 each so its an easy decision. I WAS using the Delco cartridge on my wife's '03 Ecotec powered Cavalier, but the dealer recently doubled the price to $10!! I am now using a Fram (I know)
. Since it is a cartridge filter and does not have the cardboard caps and ADBV issue, it appears to be ok.
I see many of you use Baldwin filters. I've used AMSOIL filters for many years with seemingly good results. Which national retailer carries Baldwin? Anyone using them on a Nissan Maxima?
