What are your driving pet peeves?

People who don't know how to back their cars up and insist on parking nose-out at the train station. One morning I had to wait for some moron to back in and out of the spot 6 times. If you insist on backing into your spot, be proficient enough at it to be able to park with maybe one "adjustment", please?

Well said.

So I guess you drive at the absolute perfect speed. And everyone who drives slower than you is an annoyance as well and you want them to be pulled over too!?

There will always be someone who is faster and also someone who is slower than you, can you not be at peace with that?

My point is I give those wanting to go faster every chance to go around me.

Those cruising along in the left lane that aren't passing anybody should be shot on sight.

^I agree 90%... maybe not shot but at least given a ticket. In Maine the troopers do pull motorist over for using the passing lane as a travel lane. Not so much in Massachusetts though.

The revenue generated by the enforcement of this law alone could cure all of CA's budget problems.

My bad if this is what you meant, I agree completely with those two sentences.

#1 South Florida drivers; they seem to do everything listed here and then invent some new ones. Old geezers who STOP in the street before turning in to a parking lot. They are the same ones who pull out of the parking lot without looking.

#2 States that require inspections on NEW vehicles.

#3 People who drive 30 in a 50 mph zone.

More on commuter parking lot antics (or should that be moron commuter parking lot antics?

)

1) People in such a hurry to get out of the lot that they'll run down anyone in their way, even at a stop sign.

2) Pedestrians who walk down the center of the parking lane.

3) Pedestrians who don't even look if there's oncoming traffic before stepping out from between parked cars, especially a SUV that completely blocks a drivers view of them. Yeah, pedstrians have ROW and if I hit you I'll be considered at fault, but at the same time, if I kill you, your family may be able to sue me, but you won't be around to spend the money so what's the benefit to you?

4) Drivers who won't wait their turn to get into line. I get it, you're in a hurry. Guess what, so are the other 400+ people who just got off the train with you.

That isn't always true. In Virginia, there are several exceptions to that, and one law that states "pedestrians shall not cross the street in disregard of approaching traffic" or something similar.

Here they have ROW when crossing "with" the light, if so regulated. Liability is never automatic. Naturally you'll be described as the deevil's spawn if you're the driver ..but that goes with the turf.

My son had a man walk into the side of my jeep. The first indication that the guy was there was when his lit cigar flew in the zipped down window. The guy was leaving a bar in the dark, it happened that it was the gap in the street lighting..j-walking ..with dark clothing. We never heard anything about it after the reports were filed.
