The 80's at 8 on 95.1 F.M. radio. A Connecticut radio station on my 80's Sony boom box in my garage. The thing takes 10 D cell batteries back in the day when I used to take it out to listen to cassettes with the gang. One of the 1st to have a CD player built into it. Has dual cassette players and extra amplifiers on it. Just press buttons. Drives my wife nuts when I crank that thing up. Rattles the windows of the garage. I luv it ! Even has detachable speakers you can hang somewhere.

Luxman turntable, Ortofon cartridge Hafler preamp and amp
Canton Plus S satellite speakers with subwoofer.
I just recently set this system up after 40 years in boxes! I forgot just how good this sounds without any digital manipulation.
Starting to re enjoy my 100’s of albums that have been fortunately stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.

I'm streaming John Klemmer "Touch" LP from the 1970's over my new Fosi mono block amp system.
Cable Internet, Amazon UHD , WiiM Ultra. It sounds absolutely amazing.*

* They finally got it right!! Purists can laugh, but no digital manipulation involved. LP sounds good and warm, but no one talks about LP's and limited dynamic range. I do hate this range was abused by CD volume wars, but that is behind us I hope.

This AM listening to Steely Dan Katy Lied Vinyl I bought in the 1970's. Sounds good, but I needed to turn the vol knob up a bit on the main pre-amp. Hmmm

Ah, gain was too low on the Phono pre-amp. One click up to 48dB. Sounds perfect. Clean.

This, like many songs from the era, evokes a lot of memories.

It’s funny how certain songs can bring back certain memories during a period in your life. My teenage years were through the 80s’, there’s a lot of memories there!
