Got done with my 20 mile bike ride, would like to get back to a work project. Wife has a movie she wants to watch and I'm toying with watching it--maybe I'll bring a laptop with me.
The station wagon I've been eying just dropped in price, but am starting to think I really don't want a manual anymore--no fun in traffic. But wife wants me to get one some time before spring; I'm guessing I can always rent something, as it's just to move the daughter out of college to wherever it is she'll be going. It all barely fit into the car going down, so, the thought is, it won't fit coming back.
Did you try coasting in neutral to see if the shaking changed?Just got home from work. Salesman gave me a ride home. My Escape is shaking like mad and I believe it’s a transmission or axle problem. As rusty as it is and worn out I’m probably just going to try and get something else. It’s done developed a couple holes in the frame and everything. I balanced and rotated the tires and test drove and still does it. It started this morning about 10 miles from work. My dealership has a very nice used Tacoma I might inquire about. I need 4WD that’s basically the only requirement.
Honestly I didn’t. I was terrified about breaking down so I just drove under 50 and got there. I’ll try and take it for a spin tomorrow during lunch and see if it does it again or try putting it in neutral.Did you try coasting in neutral to see if the shaking changed?
Edit: And car payments are for suckers!!!
Don't you own several other cars including a small pickup?Honestly I didn’t. I was terrified about breaking down so I just drove under 50 and got there. I’ll try and take it for a spin tomorrow during lunch and see if it does it again or try putting it in neutral.
Nothing beats a visual inspection, but I know you know that. Would you get in trouble if you put your personal vehicle up on the lift?Honestly I didn’t. You have a good credit rating ?Just got home from work. Salesman gave me a ride home. My Escape is shaking like mad and I believe it’s a transmission or axle problem. Indeed. I’m going to drive it temporarily but the route I travel is not known the be the safest and as thin and old as that truck is I want something safe and with airbags and four wheel drive and preferable automatic because my truck goes about 30 up that hill that the speed limit is 60 on lol.Don't you own several other cars including a small pickup?
It’s mid 600s. but since I’m an employee they can probably finance me in house because we have our own finance company. You have a good credit rating ?
There goes your big raise, lolIt’s mid 600s. but since I’m an employee they can probably finance me in house because we have our own finance company.
I did that tonight and none of the axles or the driveshaft was bent or broken, balanced and rotated all the tires, no play in suspension or broken components. And no check engine lights or codes for a misfire or anything.Nothing beats a visual inspection, but I know you know that. Would you get in trouble if you put your personal vehicle up on the lift?
I suppose that’s a possibility. Doesn’t show any signs but probably won’t hurt to pull them off the rim and see if it’s internal.Separating tire?
Taco’s hold value - and a fixed rate on a declining balance is not terrible … Sure, at my income I could preach like others here - but you gotta be safe, reliable, and proud …It’s mid 600s. but since I’m an employee they can probably finance me in house because we have our own finance company.
In my opinion $15k isn’t too bad for the truck in question. Considering a new one is every bit of 50-60k and 10x uglier lol. I figure I can do around $300-$400 a month payment and still be alright.Taco’s hold value - and a fixed rate on a declining balance is not terrible … Sure, at my income I could preach like others here - but you gotta be safe, reliable, and proud …
Then get rid of all the sentimental stuff - well, keep the bug![]()
