Has anyone use this product on siding on your house. I do notice that it is not a quick cleaner and it takes a little time to see the results...Anyone use it or the other way.. 30 Second Cleaner that cleans as soon as you apply it...

I use it every so often on my vinyl siding with good results. It does take time to cleanup the area, but within a day the green turns dark and is more shadowy. That shadow continues to lighten over time. I’m happy with. Costco usually sells it during the summer… this is what I used two weeks ago from Costco

I've used it with great results. One side of my house turns the white vinyl siding greenish due to the proximity of evergreens.
I used to have to power wash it annually. I followed the directions on the container of 'Wet and Forget' a few years ago and it's been white ever since.
The directions are simple....literally 'wet and forget'...

Wet N Forget is a great product and the latest (updated) sprayer itself is ideal for large areas, as it makes quick and easy work of a job. The sprayer is actually good enough to do my roof! Nothing other sprayer is this good, at least that I've found.

However, it is incredibly overpriced when you can purchase the very same chemical in the pool section of Walmart "dimethyl benzyl amoninum chlorides" so refill your sprayer with "HTH Algae Guard".

Also, I mix it with liquid pool chlorine 50/50. It is far more effective and lasts just as long.

My house: Instead of pressure washing the mildew and green slime off of everything, I simply use that sprayer. Works perfectly. I can even reach the top of the roof with a ladder.

Works well on decks also. Keeps the grime from the trees off of it well. Does contain nasty chemicals so don't apply on a breezy day and cover yourself up well. All the health warnings are on the back label that you have to peel away since it faces the inner part of the container.

I use it on my vinyl siding. I have used it to spot treat aluminum siding, my gutters, and have used it on concrete. I have had great results on all applications. Excellent product.

I want quick results. In central TX, black algae on limestone an concrete is a problem. The best solution is to the apply a mix of pool chlorine, heavy duty cleaner such as Jomax, and water. I use a battery operated garden sprayer. Applied early on a call humid morning works best.

Robin Leech may stop by later. Lol

Just to echo what others have said, great product. I had a vinyl porch at an old house and always had issues with it being slick from mildew. Sprayed it on and took care of it. Wet and forget also works great in showers/tubs.

Add one more happy user. The north side of my house tends to develop green over time and I just spray it on and wait for results.

I soft wash my house once a year in Spring. Never tried this, but used some similar stuff. Chlorine basically. Works fine.

The wet and forget is like $40 a gallon. There are significantly cheaper alternatives that are every bit as effective. Have a neighbor two doors down use this and it works, but so does the cheap stuff. :)

Thanks for all of your replies.. I did purchase some this afternoon and will give it a try....I have been told that my post was not allowed on this site...dont know why but I have been notified....O well... but thanks for your help on this product...

If you have algae and a pressure washer then just use straight bleach in a pump sprayer first. Let it sit for 15 minutes or so, don't let it dry and they go to it. Takes it right off. And that was on old chalky paint I was prepping for a repaint. No special bleach needed.

It's Ammonia based. It may kill mold & mildew.

Best bet is to soft wash with pool chlorine and a surfactant. That's what the professionals do

Thanks for all of your comments. I did apply the Wet and Forget yesterday and will see how it works...

I've used it on our beach house which has white scalloped vinyl siding for the roof peak portion...and it faces North so it gets minimal sunlight. It gets mold on it every spring. I used a similar product called Jomax. You need to add your own bleach but it's far more economical than Wet and Forget or the 30 minute hose end sprayer stuff.
I usually just use a pump sprayer with bleach, water and laundry detergent mixture. Spray it on , leave it for 5 minutes and hose it off. Works great.

Ditto to the above.

Around here the black streaking is unavoidable on North facing roofs. I've used it on 3 roofs and it's worked very well. It takes several weeks, but also seems to have a residual effect.

Newer shingles have bits of copper mixed into the granules on the top of asphalt shingles. Takes care of most of the issues you mention.

I have that. But on one corner it's shade almost all the time. I hit it with bleach and it kills it off. Last spring I added 50 ft of half inch copper tubbing on the ridge. Waiting on results. They sell zinc strips for that purpose at a fairly cheap price.
