Your confuser may have multiple issues Smoky. Hard to diagnose from here without more info.
I use FF + Ublock Origin. It's a good combination. You can select multiple filters for use with UO. They also need updating periodically. Open the UO dashboard:
You can also tag and delete any annoying segment on most webpages. Very useful feature. Use depends upon how confuser litterate you are though.
FF is also well-known for memory leaks. You can verify this with Task Manager, Process Explorer or others. It pays to close it every so often, then restart after 15s or so as there is often a delay until all occurances have quit. You can then 'restore your previous' session which will restore the tabs only without reloading all of the tabs content...until you click on it.
