water in oil

12% does seem really high for a non-noticable water content.

Wintertime does cause water to easily make its way in for some vehicles used some ways. It is especially common in oily residues in dipstick and filler tubes, where the temperatures are not close to the bulk oil temperaturs, and they serve essentially as condensation points.

Im sure there is information regarding wha water content is OK vs. unsafe. Id be worried about 12%.

I just read your UOA you posted in that section, it looks like it is .12%, not 12%. That is just a tiny amount of water. 12% would DEFINITELY be milky looking.

your UOA reflects .12%...curious if this was a hot drain or a cold drain?

let the car warm up, the go on the highway for 15 mins in a non overdrive gear, and when you get back home leave the oil fill cap off for 5 mins. you wont have any more water in the oil.
