MaxLife ATF is gone, with this as the replacement...

Is the Castrol Transmax HM full synthetic?

I saw MaxLife ATF on sale for $2.25 a qt but didn't buy any

Here's info on the atf. Couldn't find info on the HM atf

Hope this helps

Good out, okay in?
Valvoline must have p-oed Walmart.
This will prevail for the next six months to a year and Valvoline will offer a Walmart a better deal than Castrol.
It's all about what makes Walmart the most money.
It's never about product quality.

Thank you for taking the time to post data sheets, but this is not their "Transmax Full Synthetic Multi-vehicle" product.

Unlike MaxLife, Transmax HM is an old-school Dexron IIIH formulation (8 cSt @ 100°C).

I don't like this

Castrol HM ATF doesn't meet as many standards as Maxlife does, and it's only a blend, not a full synthetic. It seems inferior to Maxlife.

Personally, I boycott all and any BP products. Some products are good but there are equally good or better ones.
MaxLife ATF and Penn Plat oil, Motul gear oil for me please...

I would guess that is the reason he boycotts BP. But If he stays true to form then he should also boycott all Exxon products because of the Exxon Valdez and Shell for the spill in the Gulf of Mexico last year.

As a long term Mobil 1 user ... I don't even think of ExxonMobil that way. Two separate companies at the time and despite Exxon being the "parent" - look who's lubricants stayed (you can't find Superflo) ...

A step backwards. Only equivalent to MaxLife Castrol ATF would have been Transmax Full Synthetic Multi Vehicle and that has become a unicorn ATF.

A thumbs down from me for WM on this move. Disappointing.

Now it makes sense. My local Wal-Mart told me they wouldn't be getting more Maxlife in stock when I was looking around for it before dropping the pan and changing the filter on the Olds. Canadian Tire doesn't carry it either (they also don't carry Valvoline conventional or HM oils not to mention ATF).

This is a bummer. I had been thinking about getting more AFT, but had been waiting for a sale.

That's definitely what drives the change at Walmart.
