It's not really cheap. You can buy Quaker State Q-Horsepower for $20 a 5qt jug (some places $18)

It's made buy Warren Performance Products.

A quick search will reveal all the info you need.

My cars have seen many quarts of it in their lifetimes, with good results as well. But it used to be a lot cheaper in price than other synthetics.

With Super Tech Full Synthetic going for $17 and Quaker State Ultimate Durability at $18 (5-qt jugs), at my local WM, I'd spend the extra dollar and get the QS UD.

i noticed that in the new clear bottle, the oil is a bit cloudy. i held it next to a QS bottle for reference and there was a "clear" difference. maybe nothing, maybe not refined as well?

I'd go with the oil that has a detailed PDS and MSDS vs the one that has neither for only $1 more per 5 qt jug =)

Ya Know, a while ago around 2001-02, a friend asked me to help him change the oil/filter in his Mercury Grand Marquis as he couldn't get off the oil filter the time before(we had to jack up the front end of the car & let the front wheels hang in order to drop the filted down). Annnyyywaaayyy, he brought whith him Castrol SynTec 5W30 and a Fram filter. What I noticed as I was pouring in the oil is, how cloudy the SynTec looked compared to just about any oil that I've used recently. I was just in W*M last night and saw the clear bottles of ST Syn and I agree that it too is cloudy. HMMMMMMM! This ST Syn were in the clear WPP Bottles!

When did it get that? The last time I checked out the Supertech syn it did not have the 4718M cert.

For several months, at least. It's only listed on the clear bottles, from what I've noticed.

Wal-Mart has to have a MSDS sheet on file at EACH retail location that stocks supertech oil. Also, they MUST furnish it upon request. Simply ask for one and see what is listed on it.
