Wal-Mart Super Tech Full Synthetic

Warren blends the oil and I do not know where they purchase the base stock(Group III) from....lowest bidder ? Add pack is weaker than M1 as well.

"Just in case anyone wants to know, I e-mailed Warren Oil and a representative answered back and told me that they DO NOT make engine oils for Wal-Mart, sold under the "Super Tech" name."

That's because Warren Oil is a different company than Warren Performance Products.

I just e-mailed the rep. again, to ask if Warren makes it for Wal-Mart, on a regional basis, or NOT AT ALL.

It will be interesting to see what the rep. will say.

This thread makes my head hurt.

Do a search on "Warren" or "Warren Performance Products" or even "Super Tech" and you will find numerous references to Warren Performance Products as one of the Super Tech sources.

Also, Super Tech may be supplied by ExxonMobil on the East Coast or by Shell/Motiva on the Gulf Coast. As we have discovered, there are different sources, based on location.

As explained in these previous threads, Warren PP blends & pakages the oil, has an automated blow molding & filling line, and the bottles on the shelf at WalMart display the WPP logo on the bottom.

Why bother the busy folks at Warren Oil with questions unrelated to their actual product lines, when an abundance of Super Tech info is available thru the Bitog search function?.

*sigh*...the origin of ST...

Exxon mostly supplies it here in the northeast with occasional WPP 5qt jugs during shortages.

From the Exxon MSDS:
Product Name: SUPER TECH 10w30
Product Description: Base Oil and Additives
Product Code: 477422-00, 97Z054
Intended Use: Engine oil
blah, blah, blah....

WPP makes all of the Blend 10W30 and Syn (at least here in the US). See one of my previous posts confirming that the blends (10W30) are still around and are SM/GF4. All of the 5W30 blends I have found are all still SL. I have only seen a few WM's carry the Full Syn 5W30 quarts (no 5 qt jugs) and they are SM rated.
