VOLKSWAGEN 502 00 / 504 00 / 508 00 / 511 00 APPROVAL LISTS

The jug I just bought 2 weeks ago has it printed on it. Maybe a formulation change coming like you said. I hope not as it's readily available and one of the least expensive 504/507s.
Mobil1 dropped BMW approvals in 2015 reformulation of their products. They had bit higher oxidation than BMW allowed (BMW approvals are strictest in that category). It could be that new Mobil1 formulation cannot meet certain aspects of VW approvals or VW updated their approvals (blenders know about updates far in advance, though, so this is possibly Mobil1 decision to reformulate).

I have 12 quarts of the old "approved" 504/507 for the Golf. Took an image of the new offering at Walmart. I won't hesitate to run the old stuff.

What would be everyone's pick between Mobil 1 ESP 0W30 and 5W30? Both have same VW/Porsche certs. I wonder how NOACK and add packs differ?

My 2019 Arteon has an under hood sticker specifying both 504 and 0w-30. I use the VW branded oil from FCP Euro which is the same as Mobil 1 ESP, so lifetime oil changes.

Apparently M1 ESP 0W-30 doesn't no longer appear on above approval dated just four days ago (2.14.2024).
Same with M1 ESP X2 0W-20 which apparently lost VW 508 00 (Feb 14th) despite still advertised.

Both M1 ESP 0W-30 (VW 504 00) and M1 ESP X2 0W-20 (VW 508 00)
are still missing in VW's corresponding listings. Luckily M1 ESP 5W-30
is still listed.

I'd trust Mobil over Volkswagen's notoriously overwhelmed approval department..

I still trust Mobil anyway.
